must try the dry beef noodles at blk 17 upper boon keng market. Look for stall 01-1165c called singapore river beef kway teow. Its a one man operations setup by an old uncle who used to sell beef noodles at the old boat quay mkt (now demolished) in the 80s. $3 for a generous serving of tender beef and special sauce with noodles, kway teow, or bee hoon. u'll most likely go back 4 more.

Pepper Lunch at Shaw Centre. Next to mos burger. DIY style set meals on hot plates. Food is not bad though pricey considering you have to cook yourself n your hair smells of pepper beef after that. Price ranges from $8.80-$17.80 for a set consisting the hot plate of meat n vege, a bowl of rice, and a drink.
